The Washington County Democratic Committee cordially invites you to our Annual Banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn, Southpointe on Friday, March 15th, 2024. The event will start with a social hour and cash bar at 5:30PM, followed by dinner at 6:30PM.

At our banquet, entitled “Honoring a Legacy of Leadership,” we are thrilled to celebrate our newly elected Mayor of the City of Washington JoJo Burgess. Mr. Burgess is a United States Army veteran having served in Operations Desert Shield/Storm. Mr. Burgess is also a United Steelworker and has been involved with his local union for 20 years, holding a number of leadership positions. In addition, he is involved with the USW Rapid Response Program which engages our legislative leaders about the issues affecting working families and the USW PAC working to ensure working families have a voice during the political process. In 2022, Mr. Burgess had the distinct honor of attending the State of the Union Address as the guest of First Lady of the United States Jill Biden. Many of you might remember President Joe Biden recognizing JoJo during his State of the Union speech for his work as a Union Activist. This past November Mr. Burgess was elected Mayor of the City of Washington, becoming the first Black mayor in the city's history.

We would be honored to have your support in making this event a huge success. We have been working hard to make the Washington County Democratic Committee a strong, visible entity in our community. With your help and generosity, we can continue to grow and strengthen the Democratic Party in Washington County to ensure that Democrats win at the local, state, and federal level.

Join us on Saturday, February 3rd from 11:30am - 1:30pm to sign candidate's petitions to get them on the 2024 Primary ballot. Enjoy some pizza, drinks and conversation while you are helping our candidates get on the ballot.

We will have petitions for Statewide candidates for Attorney General, State Auditor and State Treasurer. We will also have petitions for any State House or Congressional candidates. You must be a registered Democrat in Washington County to sign petitions.

The next meeting of the Washington County Democratic Committee will be Thursday, January 25th at 6:30pm at the VFW Post 191 located at 539 W Pike St., Canonsburg, PA 15317. The agenda for this meeting will include:

-What is on the ballot in 2024 and ways to get involved
-2024 candidates will be invited to speak
-It is Petition Season, we will have candidate's petitions available for you to sign, as well as extras for you to take to collect signatures
-Reports from subcommittees

Please plan on attending, as your participation is vital to our success. This is a critically important Presidential election year and everything we do here in Washington County really does have an impact.

Committee meetings are open to all registered Democrats in Washington County, so please feel free to invite other Democrats in your community to attend.
