Subcommittees

The WCDC consists of a number of sub-committees that help with the day-to-day operations of the county party. Please consider joining one!

Candidate Recruitment Committee: This committee will utilize their connections in the community to help identify qualified candidates to run for office, including local, state, and federal elections.

Community Events Committee: This committee will be in charge of identifying community events the Democratic Committee should participate in and then organizing our participation in these events. Members of the committee will be in charge of organizing volunteers to staff events, designing and setting up displays. Examples of community events include: County Fair, Community Days and local fairs.

Fundraising Events Committee: The fundraising events committee will plan, schedule and implement all fundraising events, including but not limited to the Annual Fall Banquet.

Community Service Committee: This committee will plan 3-4 community service projects for the Democrats to participate in a year.

Standing Committees

Membership Committee: =Responsible for credentialing new members; tracking members who may have moved out of Washington County, died, or changed party affiliation; identifying potential new members; actively recruiting new members to fill vacancies on the WCDC; and serving as a Judicial Review Board.

Bylaw Committee: Responsible for maintaining and reviewing the bylaws of the WCDC on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with state and national Democratic Party rules; to accurately reflect the goals, objectives, and procedures of the WCDC; and to receive, review, and recommend proposed amendments to the WCDC bylaws.
